Programmable Logic Controller was first developed by General Motors in 1968. This control system is used as an alternative to replace the relay control of complex systems. PLC applications are widely used in process machinery, packaging, material handling, assemblyterotomasi and so forth. According to IEC1131 Part 1, the definition of the PLC is an electronic system that operates digitally, using a programmable memory for internal storage oriented to the user, to perform special functions such as logic, sequencing, timing, arithmetic; to go through both analog and digital inputs; various machines or process. PCs and peripherals that are used are designed so that easily can be integrated with the industrial control system and used to perform the functions that are expected. 


The PLC Programming Language

According to the IEC 1131-3 programming languages used to program a PLC between lainLadder Diagram, Function Block Diagram, Statement List, Structure Text, and Sequential Functional Chart. But in real applications the PLC programming language most widely used type of ladder diagrams.

Ladder Diagram

Ladder diagram has a shape such as electrical circuits. A ladder diagram consists of a power rail on the right side and left diagram, connected by rung by a coil switching element and a specific element. Ladder Logic is a method of doing drawing electrical logic scheme. When this method is to use the highly popular language usage in PLC programming.
